From Our Host
There looks to be a return route issue coming out of Dallas, TX. Those users that the return route goes over Level 3 (a large provider in the US) may be experiencing packet loss, which could result in lag spikes and disconnects.

Network Engineering is working on the issue with the network provider in Dallas to investigate and resolve as quickly as possible.

Update:

Issue is now resolved, ventrilo should be running at 100%. Sorry to the WoW members especially as I know Sunday's are raid nights.

Howdy yall,
As some of you know my WoW account was just hacked. How my account was compromised is truly diabolical! Last week I Google'd the WoW Armory, and clicked on the top return for Google thinking nothing of it, as it turns out the return was a phishing site that was amazingly crafted. The hackers/phishers payed Google for the placement. The Blizzard rep today told me that 10's of thousands of WoW accounts were compromised this way in the past few weeks. WoW players please use links off of the official World of Warcraft community site. Blizzard has recently added some new info about account security and Battle.net, I suggest reading up on it. I also STRONGLY recommend an Authenticator for that extra layer of security.

This goes for EVERYONE, Please be VERY VERY cautious when Googling and what Google returns. This new phishing attack is not just for pharming WoW account data it is a wide spread tactic phishers are using for all manner of data mining.

Here is an update to answer the questions I have been getting about game nights. What will happen officially is that we will be running game nights every night starting on the 1st of this coming month. In other words, 2 days from now we will begin nightly game nights and try this method for the month:

Game Night Setups:
There will be a schedule set up for the most popular games played here. These are: Counter-Strike Source, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Team Fortress 2, San Andreas Multiplayer, and then the three (3) remaining games will be voted on during the week. So game nights will essentially look like this:

Monday: SA Multiplayer Mondays
Tuesday: Team Fortress Twosdays (clever I know)
Wednesday: Counter-Strike Carnival
Thursday: Rainbow Six Vegas Pudding
Friday: Voted Game
Saturday: Voted Game
Sunday: Voted Game

Voted games will be voted on in the forums in 3 different topics. One for each night. A selection of games will be made and put on vote for each night. Game selection for voting will be from nomination on a nomination thread for games.

Also note that there will be new awards going along with the new game night schedules. These awards span from the most kills to the best team player and even who can be a whore and get random players into ventrilo. Awards will be given out at the end of every night played. Collecting all the awards for game night also leads to a different award that has yet to be decided.

Again, the game nights do not start up again until This coming Monday the 1st of Feb.

Here we go, it's finally happening. WGO's flagship Ventrilo account framework is now online, meaning that from now on, your WGO ID is now your Ventrilo ID.

Synchronisation occurs daily at 12:00 UTC. Any changes made to your user account in that time (changed password, say) will be mirrored on the Ventrilo server at 12:00 UTC. Sorry it's not instantaneous, but it takes the pigeons a while to fly the distance from Web HQ to our Ventrilo provider...

I'm getting a "Connected to server but unable to authenticate your login name and password." error upon connecting to Ventrilo!
Simply update your password in the server properties area of Ventrilo to the one you use to log in here.

If you previously used a different username on Ventrilo than you did on the website, then you'll need to update your Ventrilo user settings to mirror this change. You can change your username in your User CP.

If you never had a WGO ID (shame on you!) then use the register feature of the website to set one up. Ensure your username in Vent is exactly the same as on here.

Remember, any changes to accounts are mirrored on Ventrilo at 12:00 UTC every day.
